Last weekend was massive for the sport of OCR in Europe! There was both Spartan European Championship as well as OCR European Championships. We followed the latter more closely and were excited to find a guest to come on the show and talk about it.
Jesse de Heer finished first for the short course, second on the standard course, and his team Hang On placed first for the men’s relay race! Having a pretty excellent finish in all events we figured that he would be a great guest to have on the show to talk about their events!
We discuss the 3 band penalty system used, how it felt to take second to a teammate, strengths and weaknesses of European OCR, an overly complicated rule book, the separation of Spartan and other OCR athletes, and much more!
