Nutrition is one of the most difficult, yet critical parts of your success at World’s Toughest Mudder. What works for one athlete may not work at all for another athlete. As part of their race fueling strategy, many runners at WTM like to use “real” food such as sandwiches, beef jerky, or even pizza.

But what if you were not able to get the race fuel that best served your body? What if you could no longer get the pizza you needed to run your best race?

Brian Thompson has been investigating this very thing since 2016 on his Investigative Journalism Program (or I.J.P) called “Whatever Happened to Pizza at McDonald’s. We at World’s Toughest Podcast have followed his investigation for years and are happy to welcome him to our show.

  1. I DO remember McPizza! I would get it from the Buena Park McD’s when I lived in California in the early 90’s. It was a nice change from the BigMac or Quarter Pounder. I wondered what happened to it. I figured w/a longer cook time & not being the traditional burger/fries type of thing, it was discontinued. McDonald’s used to do a LOT more salads as well. These items (or even just the McPizza) should be brought back – esp. now!
