I took well over 160,000 photos of this year from a multitude of events. About 50-60 thousand of those photos, are from obstacle course racing events from all over the world.
Here are my favorite photos from each event, a story about each one, and the camera settings I used to capture the image.

I am not in love with this photo, but most of my pictures from this event did not stand out for me. I love this angle on this obstacle, and it is my go-to.

I promise I use different lenses! For most events, my go-to lenses are the 16-35 and 70-200. I chose these lenses because I love the wide angle on hand for those epic images and the tight shots for the intensity. This photo shows Rylan’s first big win at the North American Championships in Canada.

This photo really came out well given the lens was full of condensation. In between the UV filter and the lens, condensation was condensating… I am basically saying, science happened. It rained all day, it was also cold all day.

Toughest Mudder Philly, what a fantastic event hanging out with Sean and Carlo. They may get on my nerves sometimes, but having them around surely makes pulling an all-nighter much easier. They are for reals napping on the job…someone, please show their boss.

My favorite local event of the year, the Barbarian Challenge, takes place in Gadsden, Alabama. A beautiful venue with some amazing views. This photo shows a competitor coming out of the water under the gorge.
And that’s it. 15 events, 11 states, 2 Canadian provinces, and Greece. What a great year in OCR and my journey to get where I am. Feel free to follow more of my work on Instagram @sportsbyjack and if you have any questions, please reach out!
